MORAL CLASS AND COUNSELLING

We are pleased to inform our esteemed Parents that in addition to our weekly Mentorship and counseling sessions, we have introduced a monthly Boys’ and Girls’ forum which aims at teaching sex education at all levels particularly how to be circumspect in recognizing and avoiding sexual abuse which has become endemic in today’s society. These sessions have been of great blessings to our scholars as they demonstrate noticeable improvements on daily basis.

DISCIPLINE

Our esteemed Parents are fully aware of Life Moulders stance on discipline. Discipline is part and parcel of our life moulding process. This has been made possible over the years through the support of most of our parents. We appeal to some of our parents who still find it difficult to give us full fledge support in this area to do so as our stand is informed by scriptural counsel which says, “train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). Let’s endeavor to keep an eye on our children and join efforts with the School towards correcting undesirable behavior. This no doubt, will help our children to be socially adjusted and walk on the path of rectitude.

EDUCATIONAL VISITS

Yesterday, Thursday – 13/12/2018, we visited the OMU RESORT, Bogije town, opposite Lakowe lakes golf course, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos where the pupils and students went to relax their muscles off all tension after the term. It was fully fun filled and the scholars can testify to this. Keeping our school abreast of the trends in our community and society at large is part of the curriculum which we aim to achieve through educational visit to various sites of interest.

PUNCTUALITY TO SCHOOL

We have noticed with delight that our scholars now come to school earlier than before. More gratifying is the excitement with which they come to school every day. This is a great feat which we attribute to the commitment of you all – our esteemed Parents. Let us endeavor to keep up this good work. It is said that punctuality is the soul of business. Once our scholars are used to it now, it will become a great asset to them in future – in leadership and the world of work. Every student is expected to be in school not later than 7.30a.m. as all are expected to participate in the morning Assembly which begins at 7.45a.m. Parents of children who consistently come late to school may be requested to see the School Management for interaction.

SPORT DAYS/INTER-HOUSE SPORTS COMPETITION

Our sports day remains Wednesday for all categories of Scholars. Sportswear is compulsory for everyone on this day. However, if for any reason you feel that your ward is not capable of going through the rigours of sporting activities, please write a brief note to the school to apply for the exemption of such ward from sporting activities.

Also, preparation for the maiden edition of our inter-house sport will commence immediately we resume in January 2019 while the competition will come up on a date to be announced within the term.

TERM’S PROJECT / ASSIGNMENT / HIOLIDAY DIGEST

Second term project has been enclosed in the parcel given to every student. We solicit the support and cooperation of parents to minimally put their ward(s) through in carrying out all the assignment and projects. We should be wary of doing the assignments for them but guide them only where necessary. Deadline for submission of project/holiday digest is the 2nd week of the term.

SCHOOL BUS SHUTTLE SERVICE

To the glory of God, we have stabilized in our Bus shuttle services. We have just added another bus towards effective service delivery. This will become fully operational with effect from January.  We thank all our parents who have hitherto kept faith with us in the use of our school bus shuttle. However, we want to appeal to this category of parents to endeavor to make full payment on or before resumption date to enable us make adequate preparation for effective and efficient take off of the services. Students whose parents fail to pay within the stipulated time will not be picked up at resumption. We equally want to plead with parents to stick to pick up schedules of their wards to avoid disruption of the process.

PICKING UP CHILDREN FROM SCHOOL

Parents who pick up their children on their own should please do so promptly. It is better to target being in School few minutes before closing time than coming late. Where a different person other than the parent or whoever has been coming to school to pick up a child is arranged to pick up the child for the first time, the School authority must have been fully informed earlier as the school will not release any child to anyone who is not known to or registered with the School for that purpose.

SECURITY CONSCIOUSNESS

We are all aware of the security consciousness all around us. We plead with all our parents to exercise utmost care in the handling of our children. Parents who do not make use of the School bus should be very careful about their choice of transportation and be very familiar with the driver or rider.

MISPLACED ITEMS

The school maintains a store where lost but found items are kept for safekeeping. Parents are advised to report cases of lost items to the School Registrar to facilitate the recovery of such items. Parents are also advised to always label their ward’s items for easy identification and recovery whenever the need arises.

TRAVEL ADVICE

Parents who wish to travel with their child(ren) during this Christmas festive period should endeavor to do so in time so as to allow scholars resume back to school on the 7th of January, 2019.Life Moulders is known for hard work, as such; we start full academic work the same day School resumes. While we wish you journey mercies to and from all your planned trips, we look forward to seeing the children back at school on resumption date above. We plead for your understanding in this regard.

OPEN DAY/CONFERENCING

Wow! Open day for 1st term 2018/2019 academic session was really interactive and encouraging as we had more parents responding to invitation. We appreciate all parents who responded to this invitation. During this great occasion, parent had the opportunity to look into their wards’ books and interact with the tutors on the progress of their wards. We enjoin parents who are still sitting on the fence to arise and make use of this unique opportunity to collaborate with the school for the betterment of their children. Together we can achieve the children of our dream.

UNAUTHORISED ACCESS TO CLASSES BY PARENTS

It has come to the knowledge of the School management that some parents go into class areas contrary to the policy of the School. Please, this is no longer allowed without permission from the School authority. Parents should ensure that they arm their children with whatever they will need for each day e.g. food, books, etc. to avoid rushing down to school to give them anything. However, where that becomes inevitable, parents should please sit patiently at the reception while our staff attends to them. We assure you that we will not waste your time in the process. This also applies to parents who come to pick up their wards after closing hours.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP CLUB (EDP)

Our entrepreneurship club has continued to be a source of inspiration to our scholars. Beyond academics, our students are trained to be entrepreneurs, thus preparing them to effectively cope with today’s economic challenges. In this club, students are trained to make garments, beads, electronic circuit and sensors.

BOOK CLUB

We are making a lot of progress in our Book Club which was established in the School to revive the dying culture of reading in our Scholars. We want to implore our parents to motivate their wards to complete the entire three recommended texts for each category of students in the school during the holidays. Students’ knowledge of these books will be tested when school resumes. As a reminder, the recommended texts for each category of students are as follows:

Upper Basic: Novel: The Potter’s WheelBiography: The Legend: Chief ObafemiAwolowoMotivation: Joseph’s Dreams Come True

Junior Secondary: Novel: Treasure IslandBiography: Gifted Hands – Ben CarsonMotivation: The Richest Man in Babylon

Senior Secondary: Novel: The Joys of MotherhoodBiography: Gifted Hands – Ben CarsonMotivation: The Richest Man in Babylon

TUCKSHOP

Good news! We wish to inform our parents that we have revamped our TUCKSHOP. The Tuckshop is now well stocked to cater for the needs of our scholars.

Food services available include:

Assorted lunch menu

Optional snacks

SPECIAL EDUCATION NEEDS PROGRAMME

This is a new initiative of LMS. Through our checklist assessment, some scholars have been identified as challenged in certain subjects such as Mathematics, English Language and Science. The aim of the programme is to help the scholars in this category manage their areas of weakness and still maintain the same pace with their mates through well thought out strategies.

Conferencing of parents of scholars concerned will start by Jan. 2019 to enable us collaborate for excellent results.

SCHOOL FEES

We wish to remind you that all forms of payment is by any of the under listed means. Payment of cash is no longer acceptable in the School. The School Account details are stated in the School bill. In line with the CBN cashless policy, the Management of LMS once again wishes to inform you that the payment of fees can now be done through the following ways:

  • Funds transfer through direct instant platform via individual banks
  • Manager’s cheque (bank draft)
  • POS at the account office

In all cases (except manager’s cheque), parents should please ensure that the names of the child(ren) and their classes are clearly written for easy identification. We appeal that parents should always pay up on time to enable us serve them better.

The due date for payment of 2nd term 2018/2019 academic session is on or before Jan 7, 2019. Fee drive will take effect from the same date. We are thankful to parents who have made payment already and we appeal to parents who are yet to pay to please do so.

NOTE TO PARENTS

  • Parents should please help their ward(s) to reduce or discontinue cartoon watching when school is in session. Same applies to languages used at home because children learn from their environs, that is, what they see and hear. We have noticed some vulgar words used by some scholars among their peers and violent behaviours.
  • We also advise our esteemed parents to watch with keen interest the kind of friends their child(ren) keep and places they go to as kidnapping is on the increase.
  • We appeal to parents to adhere to the directives from our security men while dropping and picking the children so as not to obstruct movement in and out of the School.
  • In order to avoid misplaced books, parents are encouraged to always monitor books brought home by their ward(s) and also ensure complete return of these books to school.
  • Parents are encouraged to always make effort to give their children food as they come to school or make proper arrangement for kitchen services.
  • Parents are please advised to get appropriate story books, French, Yoruba and English dictionaries as well as Revised Standard Version Bible for their wards.
  • We strongly advise our parents to always create and spend time with their children as they need parental guide, company and warmth/friendship.

In this parcel, the following items are enclosed

  1. School bill
  2. Exams scripts
  • Holiday digest
  1. Holiday Daily Affirmation
